Conference Banner

My husband works with his old roomate’s company Novak Solutions. They design integrations for Infusionsoft, an email marketing company.  Jacob’s role in the company is pretty non-specific. He works on a lot of aspects of the business, including code, ads, videos, social media, and newsletters. I’m happy to say his graphics skills have increased because of it. I love helping him when he gets too deep into Photoshop or Illustrator and gets a little lost. Here is one of our team projects.

This April, Infusionsoft had a large conference, and Jacob jetted off to Arizona to attend and push their integrations. We had to design a few banners for the company’s booth. I am pretty comfortable using the appearances menu and transformations as well. However, I never used “expand appearance” before. This makes the editable changes applied via the appearances menu permanent. And it was the only way to make the pattern clipped to the banner size. The banner was about 10 feet wide, so the design needed to be just right.

So Jacob’s vision for how the logo would be patterned and my experience using the tranform menu plus a little new knowledge gave us a great final product! I love it when an assignment leads to new knowledge and pretty endings.

Recipe Cards

I love my kitchen mixer! It makes my bread, cookies, and mashed potatoes. I vectorized the outline of my beloved machine and put it on a set of recipe cards. I’ve printed some with typed recipes on them but here is a blank page you can print yourself. You can trim the cards to be the typical 3″x5″ recipe size. (I included these in a wedding gift with some oven mitts. Just something a little special.)

Months

In my ward’s primary, I’m in charge of the monthly theme board. I’m in charge of printing out the monthly themes and scriptures. For a touch of fun, I designed these month name headers. I printed the year’s worth of them on cardstock and cut them out for repeated use in the primary.

Teacher’s Social Invitation

January 31, 2013

A new year in primary means new teachers and a reason to get together for setting expectations and encouraging one another. I made this simple invite for our Teacher’s Social. I had to figure out bending text and that banner. It was fun to put together and the colors were a nice vacation from my children’s brights that is all I’ve used recently.

Child of God Crown

The new primary theme for 2013 is “I am a Child of God”. What a sweet theme. My newsletter for the primary in 2012 contained a simple CTR logo so I wanted to come up with something similarly simple for this year. Children of God are naturally royal, hence my inspiration. Enjoy!

As the primary secretary, I do a lot of handout designing. Here is the flyer advertising our primary program. I have loved this year’s theme of Choose the Right!

Here is my first experiment with a paper collection. I struggle so much with choosing colors. Ugh. But I love playing with shapes and sizes and layouts.

Here at Yale, our Graduate Student Assembly was hunting for a new logo. I took a stab at it. My logos were not chosen from the contest. But I thought I would share them anyway.

Onesie Design

August 30, 2011

For my friend Valerie’s baby shower. I designed this onesie card for her invitations. I printed the information on pretty scrapbook paper and then cut out this shape on our Cricut. They turned out so cute! We used Sure Cuts A Lot to use our own design (SVG) on our cutter.

So my labmate took a picture of our staged crest made out of laser table tools.  I decided to play with the colors a bit and came up with this bright creation.
